Final Post-Dylan Hatzenbuhler

Dylan Hatzenbuhler P.6
A Farewell to Arms by: Ernest Hemingway

When reading A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway.  I though it was going to deal with more about how a man named Henry, who was a leader of an ambulance crew who sees things in war that a man should never see amd having to deal with the possibility of being alone.   But when reading this story it mostly consists of Henry working for his crew and recovering from a motar schell that kill two of his men.  I thought it would describe the way war went back than and what medicines they had to use.  But instead it was about Henry surviving to the last day to see Catherine  and how much he loves her at the end.  When he didn't think it was going to work out.

At the end of the story Henry get Catherine as he wanted.  He feels the effect of war, but get to move to a home with Catherine in a wooden house on a mountain side, outside the village Montreux.  Catherine is pregnant with Henry's child.  When rushing Catherine into the hospital because she went into laborer, where some doctor gives her some gas to make her contractions happen and to get the baby out of her.   When waiting for the right time, She tells Henry "to go get something to eat."   When coming back from his lunch he finds out that Catherine went into birth and had their child.  The doctor runs out of the room looking at Henry with the child in his arms. Well Henry doesnt know whats going on; He runs into Catherines room to find out if she is alright.  When hanging out their; the nurse comes in and tells Henry and Catherine some bad news.   Well giving birth the child's imbilicol cord strangled him while prior to coming out of Catherine.  The child was prounced died after birth.

When reading this story; I didnt think so many things could be going on in one mans mind with all the other horrible things at war he experienced.  When reading this book, I didnt think Henry would have a child when he had to take care of his own crew.   The moral of the story I got was to enjoy the things you love even when thiers a problem that comes up with the problems you already have in life.

I wouldn't request this book to a male reader or anyone that doesn't like romance novels.  If I had to choose, I wouldn't read this book again.  It just didn't catch anything particular in my eyes that I could ressemble my life too.
